Her remembering things, the next 5 years ended up with progressively worse changing personality and false memories along with increased memory loss to the point that the last year my dad took care of her, she was often physically abusive and struggled to communicate to my father…which he is a large man…but it still takes its toll. She was in a memory care facility for 5 years, and within the first 6 months, lost most of her verbal communication. By the end of the 1st year in memory care, we could tell she didn’t recognize any of her kids.

Her passing was both a blessing, because she was released from her mortal physical prison, and a curse at the same time, because it was like losing her a second time.

God bless your uncle and his family. It is a hard thing to deal with. My kids don’t remember their grandmother without her issues as they started right before my oldest was born. Do as much as possible with your uncle now, while his faculties are still somewhat with him. Capture the memories now.
