Post Scrimmage Thoughts From Today
1) Hall played limited minutes, but had a scoring drive, looked confident and in command. Threw the ball fine, especially on the move, but did have one terrible throw across the middle that should have been picked off. I give the defense credit. His legs will be even more of a weapon this year, he’s fast, like Taysom fast.

2) I think our RBs are going to be really solid. The first half was just touch contact and the second half they didn’t really play the A squad. But the line appears to be able to make the holes necessary to allow our boys to move the chains. Christopher Brooks has massive legs, I’d be interested to know what that guy can squat.

3) Our kicking core is solid just like last year. These guys can flip the field or make the necessary field goal to be game changers. We have the best punter in college football.

4) Our 1,2,3 options at QB can get this team Ws. Gets a little iffy after that, but I’m feeling really good about our depth at the QB position

5) Didn’t really see the deep ball today, I credit this more to our defensive backs than our WRs ability to be a factor. Hill looks like he’s going to be a weapon this year, has really solid speed.

6) Rex is just huge. Dude ate his Wheaties this summer. He honestly doesn’t look like a college tight end, he looks NFL ready. Going to be interesting to see what he does this season.

7) The defensive players were very lively throughout the game, especially from the sidelines. I like seeing this passion and hope it equates to good play on the field. The offense just went about their business, I chalk this up to being confident and hope that also equates to good play.

8) There wasn’t really what I would consider a standout big offensive play. Just fundamentally sound football. I would have liked to have seen some bombs to our WRs but then again that would have made me concerned about our D.

9) My last observation is BYU looks big and stronger than what I’ve seen in recent years. I hope this equates to fewer injuries.

Excited for the season to start!
