I think a better metric would be $/mile. Energy density/vehicle mass,
drivetrain efficiency, aerodynamics, rolling resistance, etc. all matter.

Right now, you can buy quite a number of EVs that will get the equivalent of 100+ mpg and drive for 300+ miles on a single charge. So to say the mass of batteries needs to come down in order for EVs to be competitive with ICE doesn't make sense to me.
