Prior to last season, the Ute’s #22 was killed
Then during last season, their player wearing #22 to honor his teammate was killed at a party. So, the Utes have retired the number 22 to honor those 2 guys. Some Ute fans got upset when BYU recently announced Club 22 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of BYU’s first football team.
