I actually deliberately work to have the least annoying ads possible
I hate sites that have ads that get in the way of the content, or start talking to you, etc. My ad network is always trying to get me to try out some ads that will "optimize my revenue", and I always politely decline.

Let my Premium Subsdriptipn lapse, what a mistake. Those ads are annoying enough to pay extra to remove them.
