Both places are only as good as the mechanics they hire, though at a reputable
dealership you'd expect to find mechanics that do the majority of their work on the brand they sell and therefore have more experience with those particular vehicles than your average "work on everything" shop. They may not be a better overall mechanic than what you might find at a shop, but they know their brand well.



For something like a battery cable, I'd call around and get the best price.
