Rooting and more open settings, I can change my GPS location at any moment and get access to streaming options and websites that people in America have to pay for.
Widgets, they make the phone feel more alive. Plus you can watch a youtube video on half the screen while texting and responding to texts on the other half.
Price and style options, Apple has a nice style and the products are well worth the price. But it is nice to be able to buy your kid a cheaper phone.
I could get deeper into the weeds of it all, but overall it just has been easier and a better fit for me. Especially someone who likes to be able to store my old DVDs/BluRays on my phone so I can watch them while camping or out in rural Oklahoma and don't have internet access. (I currently have Seasons 1-9 of The Simpsons on my phone and will watch them at the gym while I am on the treadmill, no need to bring a tablet/laptop with me.)
I have done this with Apple devices, but they just create so many walls that frustrate me from storing and deleting my old media on their mobile devices.
Again, I think Apple is making some amazing products, and there is no good comparison for the apple watch as no Android watch can be a phone or get a Data plan which makes going running and listening to podcasts/audible/etc super easy.
