I had some very difficult/dark years personal and financial years about 12-13 years ago when I owned a small business. LOTS of backstory, but the result of it now is that I owe the IRS quite a bit of money that I never paid because I was flat out broke. Well they are getting extremely aggressive now, and I just got a letter that they're holding my passport and I can't renew or use it. I'm really defeated and frankly scared right now, not sure where to turn. Do I try to get a tax attorney? CPA? Can someone recommend a person in the SLC/Provo area I could talk to to start unraveling the mess I got myself in?
