In the summer of 2015 I had just graduated from BYU and moved to Texas. However, before moving some friends from school and I decided that we would make the trip out to Nebraska to attend the BYU-Nebraska game. I don't know how it happened but 3 of us decided that we would paint our chests to support our team. Of course we all know how that ended. The legendary Tanner Mangum Hail Mary. Amazing game, that convinced me I needed to attend more away games in the future.

Fall 2016 opening weekend BYU vs Arizona. Given the magic of last year my brother and future BIL decide all that we will paint our chests. This time of course BYU wins off the freshman foot of a Jake Oldroyd field goal as time expires. The painted chest is now 2-0 for last second victories.

In 2017 the plan was to go to the LSU game in Houston. However, Hurricane Harvey had other plans. I got suck at home and wasn't able to make the trip to New Orleans. No painted chest led to an embarrassing defeat.

2018 BYU is a 2 score underdog to Arizona, who has a Heisman candidate at QB, and BYU is coming off it's worst season in decades. A win didn't seem likely. However, BYU is a grind out a win with Squally Canada running out the final few minutes. Painted chest in 3-0 for dramatic wins.

Knoxville 2019 is one for the ages. At this point I can't actually convince other people to paint their chests with me, so I have to do it myself. A miracle throw from Zach to Micah, and a clutch field goal again from Oldroyd leads to an amazing OT win. Incredible.

2020 Covid stops prevents fans from attending games.

2021 BYU vs Arizona part 3. The least dramatic of all the wins, but the painted chest remains undefeated.

Tomorrow, I'll be in attendance and to be completely honest I'd prefer to wear a shirt like a normal person. But I feel I have no choice, so I'll be repping that Royal Y paint with pride. Therefore I'm confident in another BYU victory. Will it be another Jake Oldroyd field goal to seal the deal? A long Jaren Hall pass to Isaac Rex? Chris Brooks rumbling through would be tacklers? I don't know but I'm excited to find out. I'm also hoping that I'll finally get on TV lol.
