Let's put together of list of data points we'd like to know before we ask for our DC to be fired. We all have a decent
amount of game film, but that's not enough info.

Unfortunately, it's going to take years for the B12 bump to matter. We're ranked in the top 20. It's as good as I expect. Don't get me wrong, I want to win but wanting to fire the 2nd coach when we've been ranked in the top 25 for the last three years is risky. Firing a winning coach should require an unbelievable amount of confidence that the new coach is better. Obviously there are better coaches out there, but why would they pick us?

Here is some data I'd like if I were making the decision.

1. Who is the replacement? Certainly Tom is talking to other coaches. He knows who is available or at least who is interested. Can't coaches who are better than Tuiaki find jobs that will pay top tier P5 money (it's my best guess that we pay middle of pack P5 money). Can't better coaches find jobs with higher rated recruits already on the team (and already committed to join soon)? Can't they find a job with more institutional support (including no honor code office and reduced academic expectations)? Can't they find one where their players don't take off for a couple of years?

2. Do the players really like Tuiaki or is that something that the players just say on tv?

3. How hard does he work/recruiting? How much of recruiting is where it is because of a lack of institutional support (we recently hired 5 full time people for recruiting IIRC, but we've been working with a skeleton crew for decades), and/or because we were Indy for Tuiaki's time here, and/or because Tuiaki isn't effective/doesn't work hard enough at it?

4. What does Kalani want? We know Kalani wants to win. We know Kalani loves BYU. But if Kalani wants Tuiaki and all of the replacements Tom can find aren't obviously better... then shouldn't Kalani get to have his man?
