This may be true for some places, especially those out on the East Coast that don't know any better. But it is isn't
true in Colorado. I had a friend of mine who graduated with a business degree from BYU-I. He could not get a job. I tried and tried to help him as I was in the same field he was looking for and I kept hearing that they had more qualified applicants than someone who graduated from BYU-Idaho. He eventually decided to work in the oil fields.

BYU-Idaho is easily differentiated from BYU here in Colorado and they are not thought of as being the same. BYU is viewed as an elite school in my general field. BYU-Idaho (I attended Ricks for a year and a half myself right before it changed) is viewed in a much poorer light.
