Major problem for Holker
If he plays out this year and next at BYU, he is back-up to Rex. Rex is obviously the better NFL prospect. Yes, Rex may be half a step away from having really good speed, and could improve his blocking, and could muscle up on his good sized frame even more, but he still has room to improve over the next couple seasons. Holker (though a good player, and I hope he stays) will be second fiddle behind Rex. If the system is a bad fit for Holker, in his mind, it is really because he is stuck down the depth chart behind someone else, and will be for the rest of his career if he stays at BYU. I am not saying this as hate on Holker. He is a very good back-up TE to have. But this seems to be the glaringly obvious truth to me.
