A lot of babysitters won't do that.
I've asked some up front, and they've said "Whatever you think."
I like to overpay babysitters a bit more than they usually get so that they will be more likely to babysit for us when they have other options (other babysitting or other social plans). It's hard to do that when they won't tell you what they usually make 🙂
