My daughter plays on a competitive soccer team as well. She just happens

To be the worst player on the team. She doesn’t see it and I never mention it. Luckily she still plays some, so everyone is happy.

My point being is we sometimes lack insight into our own play/self worth. The flip side is coaches can also lack insight into or misevaluate a players ability.
