Don't wait that long! Hunt muzzy or archery in a good unit with way less points.
My buddy had 28 points. In that same time frame you could hunt the wasatch or manti 2 or 3 times with a bow. San Juan was amazing, but you don't need a unit like that to kill a slammer.
Talking to him he said if he was to do it again, he'd be putting in for muzzleloader on that same hunt.
