Middle Earth society progressed shockingly little in the 5,000 years between Rings of Power and LOTR.

Like, 5,000 years ago here on regular Earth we barely had written language, and now we have machines that can write original novels. We were stabbing each other with spears and now we have missiles that can hit moving targets miles away.

As far as I can tell, Middle Earth has about the same tech in Rings of Power and LOTR. They really need some venture capitalists to invest in tech projects or something...
