This happened to my wife. Exact same thing.
We took her to the ER. They applied this small tourniquet to her finger. Then they put something on the dime sized spot (don’t remember what it’s called but it promotes clotting) and it stopped the bleeding. Took about 20 minutes. Then they wrapped it up.

It took a few weeks to heal all the way.

The ER said this type of injury is really common with mandolin slicers. We haven’t used ours since then. It was pretty traumatic for my wife.
