Dylan Collie was on 1280 with PK/DJ, and was asked on scheduling going forward.
What are your thoughts on this?

Dylan said he would rotate between Utah and Utah State depending on 8 or 9 game schedule from conference.

Here's what I think BYU should do depending if the Big 12 goes 8 or 9 game schedule:

8 game (4 game non-conference):

1 FCS
1 G5
1 Utah (annually)
1 P5

In this scenario I think the Utah game should be played every year. Utah State will fall under that G5 slot maybe twice every 6 or 8 years. Some may disagree, but I don't believe Utah State should be scheduled every year even on a 8-game conference slate.

9 game (3 game non-conference):

1 FCS
1 G5
1 Utah (even years), P5 (odd years)

If 9 games is what's decided by the Big 12, then I like the idea of rotating Utah and another P5 team according to the years I placed. It would be kind of boring if we play Utah every year as the only P5 team we play outside of the Big 12. I like the rotational idea. We have games against Utah for 2024-2028. We can keep the 2024, 2026 and 2028 game. We can move the 2025 game and 2027 game to 2030 and 2032. I would make that a normal occurrence.

Now I know there'll be some who just wants to play straight P5 teams in the entire schedule. Until it's mandatory for all P5 teams, it is not feasible to do. Right now I just hope that we could get bowl eligible for the first 3 years in the league.
