Last night was preseason hockey. I went to the VGK game.

So lots of people fighting for a spot with 6 regulars(?) (Karlsson, Stephenson, Whitecloud, Amadio, Hutton, and Thompson (Goalie, impressive outing)).

I love watching it. People skating as fast as they can for pucks on the fore-check. People laying out or doing a spread eagle to block a shot ... in a preseason game. Anything to show the coach what they can do. Last night the Knights scrubs fell to the ice many times on defense diving for pucks, sprawled out on the ice and hitting the puck out of the offensive zone. Extreme effort to get that thing out of the blue zone.

The results? Walloping the Avalanche scrubs 7-1. It was great hockey. Loved it.
