After going to a game at ND to see BYU lose about 20 years ago, watching how mediocre ND has been the past 30 years with 2 or 3 exceptions, and wondering why they still have so much clout regardless in CFB this day and age, the aura has come off for me over the past decade.

Now I would like nothing better than to watch us win by 3 touchdowns and see them scamper back to Indiana with their tails between their legs. History can only give you so much clout, 99% of theirs is from the 20th century. Outside of 1 or 2 seasons the past 30 years and a brief blip on the radar because of a kid that could/should have come to BYU (Manti), they haven't done much since Lou Holtz left.
