When BYU has a solid lead, Jarom is right: "Kalani is too nice!"
@ 11:05 Jarom - "Kalani is too nice". I wholeheartedly agree. Kalani takes the foot off the gas waaaay too early when BYU has around a 3 score lead. Football is a violent sport, and aggression is a necessary component. We do need to see some 2nd and 3rd stringers in late, but let them run the whole offensive and defensive playbooks. Kalani wants to show respect, but letting your players play is the way to respect the game and your opponent. Easing up, purposefully playing vanilla, safe offense and defense is disrespecting your opponent and their hard work and preparation no matter what the score is. I'm not saying to run a bunch of trick/gadget plays, onside kicks, fake punts. Just rest the starters and let the other kids execute the game plan. I don't care if we take a knee when we're in scoring position to run out the clock, but otherwise let them defend and get takeaways, encourage them to play hard and to score. To do otherwise IS disrespecting the game.
