We weren't sure what to expect for the ROC lineup yesterday. The temperatures were frigid, and the opponent wasn't as big a name as others this year. Nonetheless, we wanted to warm up whoever was brave enough to be out there.
We showed up with 12 dozen donuts, lots of hot chocolate, and a good representation of Cougarboard people. The ROC leadership council was there with a good group as well to help out.
Once again, the students in line were very grateful for what we brought. On such a cold morning, they were especially grateful for the hot chocolate, and many had multiple servings. We gave out as many donuts and as much hot chocolate as they wanted, and we still had extra.
So, not to let things go to waste, after we finished serving the students in line, we loaded the leftovers into my Suburban, and drove around to all the parking enforcement/BYU security personnel at their various stations. They were very surprised to have us stop, not to try to get early access to parking, but instead to offer them donuts and hot chocolate. And the humor of offering donuts to cops was not lost on them.
So that wraps up another year. We were able to do this at every home game for the second year in a row. Thanks again to all of you for your contributions--please know that we always let them know this is a Cougarboard group effort.
