Yea, I know, when I finish here a bunch of you are going to reply with smart-aleck emojis and other twit - but I don't care. And I definitely think the owners of this site should read this and consider, as well.

Something's very wrong in Cougar Land, has been for quite a while, and the heart of it is right on this board. In this world of change in the program, it's the first thing that needs to be cleaned up.

We need to make a permanent change here, which I believe will help all of us - our team, our players, our coaches, our fanbase. Especially now that we're headed into a P5 conference - the Big 12.

We have a chance to start fresh.

It's one thing for board commenters to call the team out for dispirited play like some of our Alumni rightfully did in October on Twitter, but what went on here on this board, and is still going on, is despicable. It's disgusting. And it's dead wrong.

The call for coaches heads, and firings, and the continuous put-downs and name calling and insults. Stop.

The middle-school-level gossip about coaches, players, what somebody's heard, who's leaving and who's staying, who should be fired & other dumb stuff...Stop.

And have you ever seen so much petty negativity? Many times when you attempt to be positive here you are mocked...Stop.

If you look at it in the main, this board is "owned" right now by a group that doesn't reflect me or how I'd like to be, or how most BYU fans feel and try to conduct themselves.

In fact, there's a lot of negative bullying on this board, and in the area of how we treat people a lot of conduct unbecoming of the standards of the University we all love and even our Church. And yes, how we treat each other and our team and its coaches - these are our brothers - says a lot, its central to who we are. Win or lose.

I think the people who are doing this here should be suspended from the board - they dominate too much, and they've largely taken the fun out of it, and they're up to no good.

We have a great legacy in BYU football, and this program matters a lot to our alumni and our fans going back decades. We can get to an elite level.

But you can't build on a negative foundation. Period. You can't curse and belittle and condemn others as a roadway to success.

The first thing you do is start where are, with what you have, and you count your assets, you look for potential, and you look for the positive. You build from there.

This doesn't mean you sugarcoat problems, or that it wasn't a good thing for changes with the defensive leadership, but we should also honor the fact that the defensive coordinator who just left had 5 solid years here before the major problems came up, and engineered some of our best wins, and was beloved of coaches and players. These are people.

Now I've vented a lot too during games on this board, saying we have no defense and such and comments out of frustration; I too in general am going to do better and be a lot more positive. But certainly the overall negativity and abuse has to stop.

Refuse to go down the negative rat holes some commenters want to take us down - clever though they may be.

Bring the fun back. Every one of us knows how to do that -
