Freddie Coleman on ESPN, for example. He was saying how exciting it is for him to sit on all these what-ifs? What if USC loses? What if TCU loses by a lot? By a little?
I don't disagree with him that part of the lead up in sports--the what-ifs--are fun.
What these people fail to realize, however, is that the same what-ifs will play out with a 12-team playoff. Just instead of arguing about USC, TCU, Ohio State, and Alabama, we'll be arguing about Washington, Utah, Florida State, and LSU (using this year's teams that are sitting around 11-14).
My goodness people--we are talking about MORE playoff football. Why are some waxing nostalgic about four? Remember when it was just two? When we went to four, this same group of nostalgics mourned that as well--but I bet none of them would go back to two now. I guarantee that once we've been through one round of twelve, nobody will want to go back.
