snobby reputation that BYU has. Yes, BYU is considered by many a snobby place with a "better-than-you" mentality (true or not).

My wife and I graduated from BYU. Our daughter wasn't much into school... and ended up at UVU (with good BYU roommates that became good friends). She had a good experience, but heard some of the snobby comments, but it didn't affect her. She graduated and has an excellent job. My son is a BYU student now. My next son is probably going to UVU (decent grades, but....). The son after him will probably be at BYU. The last son....

I have had employees that went to UVU that felt jilted by BYU students thinking they are 'better than me'. I don't play into that (not even with uu or USU), but it is obvious that many CBers do. I know of a couple big donors that have turned their backs on BYU because they felt slighted in their youth and have donated tons to UVU. Some of this is on them, but....

Also, UVU is pretty much led by former BYU employees and has been for quite some time. It's lightyears ahead of what it was just 5 years ago.
