As an officer who is happily out now, I can assure you they screw us over just as much.
As an O2 who wasn’t getting BAH for 5 months… I can promise you they are equal opportunity bureaucrats.
That said, the frequency isn’t super high across the board. Most pay gets issued, most people don’t have problems. But the few who do you hear a lot about. And because the army is 10% officers Vs 90% enlisted, you hear about enlisted roughly 9x as much.
Retention isn’t down because finance screws up enlisted more than officers. If that were true officer retention wouldn’t be abysmal as well. I got out for many reasons. My missing BAH 5 years back isn’t really one of them.
