In my mind, and we may disagree, landing Chandler is a huge W, but not momentum
It appears they have the inside track on a couple good players over the next couple years. If they come, then they have some momentum, assuming the on roster recruited talent is progressing and developing as well (I personally feel momentum requires your recruits succeeding as well as continuing to land them).
My post was not with intent to disaparage Pope. I think BYU needs to give him two more years to see through the group of freshman now, Chandler, and anyone else he can bring on. But I also see a lack of momentum, especially given the current 0 commitments for the 2023 recruiting class, in the face of heading into the best basketball conference in college. I think it can turn around in a hurry, but as of this moment I don’t see it.
