The guys that would otherwise get into estimating for the stability of the commute, etc... Makes it tough nowadays.
I think it's almost funny how little attention that a field superintendent tract gets, but how cool a job a top notch field guy has. The issue is everybody wants to be a PM because they are "the guy in charge". Students don't realize that all a PM at a large GC is in charge of is keeping everyone else in line and keeping the cash flow moving. There is a lot to be said about being in charge in the field and the actual problem solving skills that a good Superintendent gets to use daily. But these kids are in their twenties, you can't tell them anything that they don't already know.
