Yeah, some of it is our business, but honestly, it takes 5 years to really know what you are doing. We're trying to figure out ways to shorten that, but right now, it's at least 2 or 3 before you have the background.
BUT we have all kinds of people who are PLANNING on just 2 to 3 years and then leaving for something else.
We have a problem INTERNALLY with people Job Hopping internally... so much so they now have it in the contract that you can't apply to anything else internally for at least a year... but the external Job Hopping is killing us.
We have literally thousands of jobs at the company,... and we're hiring like crazy ... but we're losing a ton of people who's career strategy - TAUGHT THEM AT COLLEGE - is to job hop.
We're trying to figure out how to ask that in job interviews!
BUT I know, some places make it work. Evidently SpaceX is like that.... work insanely hard for 2 to 3 years then jump to some support vendor with a little calmer work expectations.
