A couple things. 4*+ athletes overwhelmingly contribute more on the field
and get to the NFL at a much higher rate validating their scoring system.
Secondly this 4-star rating is based on years of on-the-field production at the college level. It's less of a guess than evaluating a HS athlete from grainy film or a summer camp.
