GED vs High School Diploma - does it matter?
Is one seen as better than the other? Does it really matter? What doors might be closed to a student who chooses not to graduate?

My son is struggling with the monotony of high school as well as the "stupid people." For example yesterday he got frustrated with a kid with purple hair who refused to stand for the pledge of allegiance. I understand that he needs to learn to deal with other people but I don't see that happening in the next four months.

He's a good student (3.9+ grade point average) but hasn't pushed himself and most of his classes at this point are just required courses to meet the necessary arts credits to graduate. I'm sure this adds to the stupidity and hatred of the whole thing in his mind.

He's been accepted to at least one college and I'm sure he could get in to a few others if he wanted to bother to apply. But I'm not sure he wants to go to college.
