At least that’s how it worked for me over the course of 2022 until now.
I was very inconsistent with workouts over the course of 2022 ( like 2 or 3 days per week ) but still kept at it throughout the year and now I'm up to 4 to 5 workouts per week and I'd say my body is excited / craves it.
