He was a funny guy, but it came as no surprise to any of us that he couldn't hold down the most basic job ever.
When he'd get a particularly irate customer on the phone, he'd say:
'I'm sorry you're dealing with that right now and ya know what? I'm gonna give you the direct line to the President of Sears.' (Some people actually believed him and thanked him. LOL)
Then he'd give them the home number of one of our other friends, and tell them to ask specifically for Jeff (our friend's name).
There were so many call agents and no way of tracking who took which calls, that when the people would call back, it never came back on him....until it did...when his supervisor listened to some of his recorded calls.
This is also the same guy that would show up in the morning, clock in, go right back out the door and not return until lunch time.
I wonder where he's currently doin' time?
