I had daughters in club soccer and volleyball, son in football
the club sports were between 5-10K before I spent a single dollar on travel, and they involved much more travel than football, so those costs were higher too, and my son went to 2 national youth football championship tournaments and several WESCON regional tournaments on his teams and also did 7v7 circuits and summer football camps, football was still significantly less expensive than the club sports, and our football expenses were significantly higher than most football players, because like you we were doing a lot of extra football related activities.

I can say that from the club side, most serious club parents are investing in kids with the expectation that they will get a college scholarship, and most realize that they will be spending more than their kids will get back in the form of scholarship money. On the football side, I would be hard pressed to find very many parents who would come to the same conclusion, the only way you approach that kind ceiling cost for football is if you are paying for some really expensive QB coaching, but if you are paying at that kind of level, you better be thinking your kid has a shot at NFL money, but I don't think there is any other position that would come close to that kind of expense in football.

The floor for club sport athletes is significantly more expensive than for football athletes with the exception of QB's.
