"guarantee" an income for the first little while, I've seen that guaranteed income turn into a loan pretty quickly that needs to be paid back whether or not the kid makes any sales or sticks with it. Look over that type of offer VERY closely. I know of a college kid that believed the hype, tried it and hated it. Turns out he was in debt when he quit.
Anecdotally, we had a group of summer sales guys in our ward. It was not a good situation. Lots of partying, some drug use, girls overnighting in the shared apartment, porn, etc. In this particular case (and I've heard of others) it was nowhere I'd want my son to be. Many were RMs and some were pre-mission and I don't think they went out.
Just be wary, it's a grist mill.
