it's important too that you lay the groundwork that there's no problem getting
out of a bad situation. I think sometimes some parents can try to tell their kids it's a bad idea, but the kid pushes because they've been shown the big checks and the companies have preyed on their desire to make 'easy money'. The parents are reluctant, but they let the kid go.

Kid finds out it SUCKS, but doesn't want to admit to parents they were right, so they suffer needlessly.

Make sure he knows he's supported and encouraged to come home if it doesn't feel right. No judgment. (sounds like you're already doing that)
