I know people who have done summer sales, and have had great experiences. I've had door to door folks come to my neighborhood - some seem to have legit businesses and are providing a service that makes sense. Others seem like a bit of a scam.

My brother did some summer sales years ago selling satellite TV. He worked for 2 weeks and then quit. Told me it was way too easy to get people in the poor neighborhoods - who he could tell couldn't afford it and shouldn't be buying it - to sign up for a year long commitment. Said he made some money, but just couldn't feel good about it.

I think it's all about the company you work for, and how you sell it.
