Super Chicken All-American
We were stationed in Japan for the 2011 earthquake/tsunami. With power in short
supply the military encouraged dependents to evacuate. The decision (wise? cruel?) was made to have the first flight out to be everyone with young children. The plane was completely full - all the passengers were mothers and their kids as they flew the 10 hours across the Pacific ocean to Travis AFB. These were contracted flights, and there is no way the poor flight attendants knew what was in store for them on their long flight. My wife has stories of the nightmare on wings. My 1-month old baby cried much of the flight, but there was no shame, as the whole flight was screaming. My wife remembers the looks on the flight attendant's faces as they walked up and down the aisles holding dirty diapers.

My two-year old did well until it was time get off the plane and then she lost it. My wife's hands were full with the baby and bags, she needed my 2-year old to walk. Instead, she lays down in the middle of the aisle screaming, "I want my daddy! I want pizza! I want my daddy! I want pizza!" It was a rough go.

I feel a book needs to be written about this flight.
