Different strokes for different folks.
Average dentist salaries are dropping. Insurance reimbursements are dropping. Employee wages are rising.

The average dentist makes $160,000 according to the ADA and that average has been dropping every year.

Look at it this way: working at the prison will give you an average salary.

Sure, he could make more in private practice. But he will have more responsibility and stress and more risk. That’s not for everyone.

He will be in the top 5-10% of pay in the US and happy. That might be heaven on earth. Sometimes more isn’t better.

I went through this with my FIL. I’m open 3.5 days per week. And make great money. We are going to cut back to 3 days per week and make less. He can’t understand. We should be opening up to 5 days because “think of all the money!”

Nah. There’s a lot more to life than money. My freedom is priceless.

Like I said, this might be a huge blessing in disguise.
