CB docs: Is there some over-riding physiological issue that causes us to sleep
less/sleep more poorly as we get older? I’m in my mid-50s and I sleep on average 4 1/2 - 5 hrs a night. I might fall back asleep in 5-10 minutes but other times I don’t feel stressed or worried and it might take me 2 hrs or more to fall back sleep. I often don’t fall back asleep at all and just lay there in bed. A 45 minute nap in the afternoon is normal.

I’m in very good health. No meds, no pills, no pain, not drastically overweight, run or walk probably 5 days a week, etc.

Is this normal as we age and if so, why?
