I’m the opposite for the same reasons, the thought of taking $50k cash out and putting toward a car makes me sick
I would rather have the monthly payment. But unless I get zero percent or less than 2 percent where I’ll put a small down payment, I typically pay half the cost of the car in cash up front and then a 3-4 year loan for the rest. Can never bring myself to pay the entire car upfront…I’d rather the money be earning interest.

Such a drag on your monthly cashflow and on an item that goes down in value with literally every mile you drive.

But if he could afford it, he made the smart decision. The $33,000 is worth way more than the $800 a month.
