Okay, so you actually believe it all. Thanks for answering that question.
But, I disagree. Most intelligent BYU fans do not and would never compare Utah to the blue bloods. That is something your fanbase does, which is why it's so ridiculous. In reality, Utah is just another mid-level P5 that has recently had a couple of good seasons with their Rose Bowl appearances.

So, most of us BYU fans are realistically questioning why the historically limited and relatively recent run of success (in football) as one of the most recent P5 additions has you so clearly convinced that you're guaranteed a red carpet invite to join the Big12 whenever you so choose, since BYU already provides the media market share and the fertile recruiting grounds of which you speak.

We can all agree that Oregon and Washington, while unlikely, are no brainers for the Big12 if interested. Arizona and/or Arizona State provide new media market shares and recruiting grounds. Colorado as well, but less so, particularly as a retread to the conference.

Arizona, Arizona State, and even the leftover Pac schools on the West Coast do much more to support Yormark's stated expansion objectives than would Colorado or Utah.

In fact, the only thing that I can see that Utah really brings to the table for the Big12 over time would be to guarantee a marquee rivalry game each year between us two (and frankly, that would likely be accomplished anyway with Utah being left out of the Big12), or Utah coming in a package deal with others in order to guarantee the dissolution of the Pac12.

So those other Pac schools and Yormark's stated objectives are what we're comparing the Utes to with expansion talk, not some hidden subconscious belief amongst us which flatters the Utes as to compare them to the blue bloods of college football. 🙄

But you can keep believing that, and then if/when (please no!) Utah ever finds itself with a Big12 invite, which ironically would likely be in a large part due to the BYU admin's ill-advised lobbying and brotherly support for the Utes, your egos can remain intact, as in your minds it will have always primarily been about Utah's vaunted prestige and (failed) Rose Bowl appearances.
