what makes college football so much fun. We are all undefeated in the pre-season. I think most fans know that playing a full P5 schedule will be a challenge. But when you look at the schedule, there isn't a game that isn't winnable. But to the same point, most conference games are also losable. There will be unexpected wins and losses, but I expect most to balance out. Regarding the fan base, yes...what fan base doesn't overreact to wins and losses? I don't know of one...and to that point, every fan base is going to be very excited and optimistic until a loss or two changes that.
