One thing it might hint at is that the two Arizonas got a foot out the door
& SDSU is putting themselves on the line hoping to audition their "loyalty" to the idea of joining the Arizonas into the Big12.
If UW & UO are totally off the table as Big12 possibilities even in the short term, I could see SDSU as a possibility. They'd be in a good position to grow into the clear 2nd-best FB program in the state with Big12 inclusion.
