The only use case that’s practical is for people learning to fly and getting
Hours on short local flights.
There are electric planes in use for this purpose right now, but I don't see it happening for commercial long range flights for a long time.

Electric jet engines are a thing. Electric jet motors are more accurate though, but they are a thing.
