But what's the threat? that's 10 years away
The only thing that can hurt the Pac-12 right now is BIG or Big 12 expanding. BIG expands and they take 2 or 4 schools. If that happens, the 4 corners jump to the Big 12.

But I don't see how any of those programs are accretive to the BIG. I don't see it happening.

For now, the main threat is the P12 deal is markedly less than the Big 12 payout and the Big 12 convinces a few schools to jump. But the main goal would be adding to the conference and killing the P12.

Taking the Arizonas does neither. It adds Phx but two schools to split the core market. The P10 is weakened by numbers but would probably just stay at 10 with SDSU and SMU added. The core of UW, Oregon, Stanford, Utah...and the CFP's need to be in the west...would still give the P10 an auto berth in the CFP.

Taking the 4 corners, adds phx, denver, SLC and makes it difficult for the P12 to move forward. That's a good move. If UW and Oregon want in, Big 12 probably takes all 6. If they have to cut it to 4, I'd bet it ends up Oregon, UW, Utah, CU in that order.
