At the end of the day, I never cared about the C- and E-class 2-door coupes and convertibles; I don't think the CLA is a viable or interesting vehicle at almost any price-point; I have no interest whatsoever in a wagon and apparently neither does the market (why buy a wagon when you could get a sedan or a crossover instead?).
Even the affordable SUVs occupy an uncomfortable space - are they competitive with offerings from brands like VW, Toyota, Honda, and others? My guess is that they don't sell very well - but just well enough that they end up diluting the brand.
The only one that made me even a little bit sad was the planned elimination of the AMG GT 4-door, but by the end of the article, I learned that they're planning to introduce a new AMG 4-door coupe, so all is well...
