My wife and I are in a similar position
My wife had health insurance with HSA. Then we switched to my plan which also has HSA. I'm taking my company's contributions but she's contributing the remainder to her HSA.

An HSA should remain with you even if you're no longer covered by the plan that originated it. Whether or not you can contribute directly from a paycheck probably depends more on the company's existing relationship with the insurance provider. I know we are able to, which is nice.
