I read somewhere that even the worst team in the league has about a 50% odds of getting the 5th pick. The chances of the Lakers organization getting picks 1-4 is actually very very low. The NBA and their ability to attract free agents almost prevents them from being this bad. I don’t love the trade, but its not as bad as its being made out given statistical probabilities.
