I was on I-15 and several cars were forming a Utah road block so I hopped into the HOV lane to get a round a car. Had planned to hop right back out but the guy I was going around appeared to speed up. The double white line came and I felt stuck (I was solo). I was hoping to get out at the next exchange. But the guy in front of my slowed down to 70. Admittedly I rode his tail for a bit. Finally I couldn’t stand it any more so I jumped the double line. Blue lights immediately came on. I knew it was for me. I made my way across all the lanes and to the larger shoulder area of the next on ramp. I turned on my done light and put my hands on the steering wheel. Warning for 84 (?) in a 70, solo occupant in HOV, and taillight out. Ticketed for crossing the Sacred double white HOV lines at 11pm on a Saturday night.
